I had one for my F70 but didn't use it much. My ground is pretty tough and DD coils just generally do better than concentric coils. I got a 4 x 6-1/2" concentric coil for my F75 near the end of last season so was only able to try it out at one site before getting rained and sleeted on. I found a few coins in the short time I used it after getting skunked with my 11" coil so I'm excited to hit these heavy trash spots whenever the ground thaws. I used a 3" and 5" coil with my 1266 in some terrible areas and always came away with a few keepers. I just bought the 5" DD this past Monday to test against the concentric. I love the target separation with the 11" DD but it hits pretty hard on bottlecaps. I'm hoping the 5" will recognize them a little better. I have some big plans for these small coils this year! I had the HF coil, hoping to find deep old silver. I quickly realized how tuned in to stuff this coil was and was digging 10x more targets.... which for me equaled 10x more trash. I got frustrated quickly and sold it off (almost made my money back too). I would like to see more about this small DD coil when the weather is better and you have more time. Thanks for the post!
